Come & try our delicious Pimms at the next pit stop at the Alcester Motor Show on Sunday 21 July, between 10am and 3pm. The High Street will be closed to traffic & vintage & classic vehicles will adorn the street along with a mixture of food, drink, auto jumble & more.
Alcester & Bidford’s Noodle trailer will be in action again on August 11th at the Bidford Giant Summer Market and Funfair which will be held at the The Big Meadow, Honeybourne Road, Bidford-on-Avon, B50 4PQ between 10:00 and 17:00.
We’ll be serving our freshly cooked stir fried noodles with optional chicken and/or cashew nuts from around 11:00. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options are available.
All proceeds will be put into the Alcester & Bidford Rotary charities fund for distribution to local, national and international projects and good causes.
The Rotary Club of Redditch Kingfisher are holding their annual skittles evening between the Rotary Clubs of Redditch and Alcester on August 13th. Members from the retired Rotary Club of Alcester and members from the E-Club based at the headquarters in Alcester attend, Alcester & Bidford Rotarians are invited.
It is at the Mettis Aerospace Social Club (formerly HDA), Cherry Tree Walk, Batcheley, Redditch, on Tuesday 13th August at 7.00pm for a prompt 7.15pm start. The price is £10 each which includes a fish and chips supper and a raffle ticket.
Two of our members, Geoff Powell and Pauline Lowe, who run LowePowe Noodles loaned their noodle trailer to Alcester & Bidford Rotary for use at the Edgbaston Convention Dragon Boat Festival on June 8th.
Not deterred by a very wet day, we managed to serve bacon rolls and noodles to brave but very wet rowers at Edgbaston Reservoir. The event had to be cut short due to the conditions but congratulations to EHS Red who were the winners on the day.
Funds raised were added to the Alcester & Bidford Rotary charities account for distribution at a later date.

Rotarians Julie and Nigel were flying the flag for Alcester & Bidford Rotary at the Bidford village community event last weekend when they bumped into Lucy Worrall and Guy Warner from Warners Budgens who were there to present a cheque to the youth club. Budgens continues to be an amazing supporter of the local community in Bidford, including our Charity Big Breakfasts in March and October each year, so it was a great chance to say thank you in person to the boss. Thank you Budgens!!
Alcester & Bidford Rotary are part of a family of over 350,000 clubs with more than 1.2 million members wordwide. In the UK, Rotary has approximately 47,000 members in over 1,700 clubs. Rotarians are volunteering their time and talents to tackle challenges at home and abroad.
The Rotary Foundation, Rotary’s own charity, raised over $341m in 2017-2018 with over 91% of those funds used to support projects around the world including putting a further $143m towards it’s aim to eradicate polio.
Founded in 2010 as Alcester Alauna Rotary, we changed our name to Alcester & Bidford Rotary on July 1st 2018. We have over twenty members who meet every Thursday morning for breakfast at 7:15 AM at the Kings Court Hotel, Kings Coughton, Alcester B49 5QQ.
One of our main fundraising events of the year are the Big Breakfasts held biannually in Alcester and Bidford, it’s your chance to have a delicious cooked breakfast whilst helping others, donating has never been easier or more satisfying.
Look out for or Pimms stall at the Alcester Food Festival and the Alcester Motor Show, and more recently our Noodle Trailer, owned by two Rotarians and turned over to Rotary for the day.
Of course, there’s little point in raising lots of money if you just keep it in the bank. Rather than write a long list of the organisations and projects we have supported, this poster shows who has benefited from your donations.
